A new idea — a Friday Five to share retro bits and bytes from around the globe. (Can I stick with it? We’ll see.) Today’s:
- My brother in Louisville sent me this fun story — there’s a fun video, too: Yolanda Baker: Last of the disco ball makers. (The disco ball in the photo above is mine — yes! I found a disco ball last year.)
- I post photos on Instagram that for the most part, I don’t feature here on the blog — click here to follow me on Instagram if you want even more eye candy. Instagram (IG) is about sharing visual inspiration. Shown above: There’s an app that identified my top-nine “liked” IG photos of the year. I think that retroworld is telling me you want more Pyrex.
- Bradbury and Bradbury’s 1940s wallpaper patterns are now available as fabric on Spoonflower. They have other designs as well so you can be matchy-matchy with your wallpaper and curtains, if ya want. I like matchy matchy!
- On the flip side of likeys, as numerous readers have also reported, Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans: No. Just. No.
- But back to the bright side: Gabe and Amanda’s stunning house, which we featured here and here and here, is now for sale here. Gabe and Amanda are selling for happy reasons. We sure hope the new owners of this fab house don’t change a thing!
